Frank Ocean “Channel Orange” Review
The Good:Crafty storytelling and imagery. Deep metaphors about life, drug addiction, sex, relationships, etc. Some of the best R&b writing this generation of R&b. Great collaborative efforts. Real. Emotional.
The Bad:Short and Sweet. Make you want more. Needs more Cowbell.
Frank Ocean drops his debut release from Def Jam titled Channel Orange. The album is contemporary r&b with features from Pharrell, OFWGKTA, Andre 3000, and John Mayer. One of the most anticipated release of the year..
This debut album from singer Frank Ocean, will probably go down as one of the biggest releases of the year. Not to exclude the “coming out” with his bi-sexuality, but the actual praise the album has received in spite of the controversy surrounding it is what makes it so special. Ocean is a 24 year old, gifted song writer who took the time to craft a very metaphorical, deep, and fun project. The album his just as many highs as lows, but never drops the ball. All in all, this is one of our best album reviews to date.
